Delete Account & Data
How to request deletion of your Easy Language (Tomojoyo Digital) account and every child profile attached to it. Free of charge, no reason required.
1. Overview
This page applies to every app of ours that has accounts. For apps that run entirely offline with no account, simply uninstalling removes everything — see Deleting data without an account.
2. Route 1 — From inside the app
This is the fastest route, because your identity is already verified by the active sign-in session.
- 1
Open the app and sign in
Make sure you are signed in to the parent account you want removed.
- 2
Open Settings
The gear icon, usually in a corner of the home screen or on the profile page.
- 3
Pass the parental gate
Answer the short challenge that appears. This stops a child deleting the account by accident.
- 4
Choose "Account" → "Delete Account"
The app lists exactly what will be erased before you continue.
- 5
Confirm
Enter your password as a final confirmation. Deletion then begins and you are signed out automatically.
3. Route 2 — By email
Send your request from the email address registered to the account to easylanguage.pare@gmail.com. Using the registered address helps us verify the request really comes from you.
This button opens your email app with the form pre-filled. Complete the blanks and send.
Account and Data Deletion Request Hello Easy Language team, I request deletion of my account and all associated data. - App name: - Registered account email: - Child profile name (if any): - What to delete: [ ] The entire account [ ] Only a specific child profile I understand deletion is permanent and learning progress cannot be recovered. Thank you.
We confirm receipt within 7 business days and complete deletion within 30 days of verifying the request.
4. What gets deleted
When your request is processed, we permanently erase from our servers:
- Parent account data: name, email address, and hashed password.
- Every child profile linked to the account: nickname, age or school year, and avatar.
- All learning progress: levels, practice scores, badges, and session history.
- Preferences and settings stored on the account.
- Sign-in session tokens on every device.
- Backups containing the above, within a rotation cycle of at most 30 days.
Data held on your device is not erased automatically by the server. Uninstall the app or clear its data to remove the local copy — see the next section.
5. What we must keep
A few records survive account deletion, purely because the law requires it or security depends on it:
| Data | Reason | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Purchase transaction records (no card data) | Tax and accounting obligations | As required by law, typically 5–10 years |
| Server logs containing IP addresses | Security and abuse prevention | At most 30 days, then removed automatically |
| A record of the deletion request itself | Proof of compliance if audited | 2 years, containing only the request date and completion status |
| Aggregated, non-identifiable data | Overall usage statistics | Indefinite — it is no longer linked to any person |
6. Deleting only part of it
You do not have to delete the whole account. We also handle narrower requests:
- Delete one child profile while a sibling’s profile stays — available from the profile menu in the app.
- Clear practice history without deleting the account, so a child starts fresh.
- Remove an avatar photo and replace it with a built-in illustration.
- Request a copy of your data before deleting, as a machine-readable JSON file.
For requests like these, email easylanguage.pare@gmail.com and say specifically which data you mean.
7. Deleting data without an account
If you use our apps without creating an account, all data lives on your device alone. Removing it is entirely in your hands:
| Platform | How to delete |
|---|---|
| Android | Settings → Apps → (app name) → Storage → Clear data, or simply uninstall the app. |
| iOS / iPadOS | Press and hold the app icon → Delete App. All local data goes with it. |
| Web / PWA | Browser settings → Privacy → Clear site data for that app’s address. If installed as an app, uninstall it first. |
8. If you have an active subscription
- Android: Google Play → profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → select the app → Cancel subscription.
- iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → select the app → Cancel Subscription.
After cancelling, access continues until the paid period ends. We suggest sending the deletion request after that.
9. Need help?
If your request has had no reply after 7 business days, or you cannot access your account, write to us again at easylanguage.pare@gmail.com with "FOLLOW-UP" at the start of the subject line. We will prioritise it.
You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your jurisdiction if you feel a request was not handled properly.
